Gifts, Accomplishments and Memories
t the end of each academic year, I am always in awe of how much has been accomplished. One cannot help but be filled with pride observing the incredible achievements of our campus community and witnessing, firsthand, the power of a Wilkes education. From exceptional exam pass rates and opportunities to participate in athletics on national and international stages, it’s clear that our community is hard at work setting the example for future generations of students.
Reflecting on just how far Wilkes has come and where it’s headed next goes well beyond this academic year. As we connect with each other as alumni and friends – online, at Homecoming, at our Founders Gala or at one of our incredible on-the-road experiences – I am equally in awe of the stories you share. The tales of lifelong friendships being formed, of careers being made, of new paths being charted and some of life’s most memorable moments continue to inspire us. You’ll find one such example in a guest piece about the golden age of Wilkes baseball by George Pawlush ’69, MS ’76, Trustee Emeritus.
We tell our prospective students and families, “at Wilkes, you will,” but hearing from all of you shows me just how much, “at Wilkes, you did.” Continue to share your successes. We’ll never stop being proud of all you have accomplished.
I hope you’ll enjoy the latest issue of Wilkes magazine.
