In 2025, the Alumni Association Board of Directors elected and welcomed four more directors. Below, they share their Wilkes experiences and what it means to them.

My Wilkes experience almost ended before it truly began. I struggled with my computer science classes and lost my passion for the field. My circle of friends became my support system and convinced me to switch majors instead of giving up on college. I was inducted into Lambda Pi Eta, the national communication honors society, and graduated cum laude with a bachelor of arts in communication studies.

At Wilkes, I participated in co-curricular activities, including WCLH 90.7 FM, Zebra Communications, the Wilkes Now television studio and The Beacon newspaper. I also joined the Commuter Council e-staff, served as class representative for Student Government and was selected for the President’s Student Advisory Council. Senior year, I received the Outstanding Leadership/Service Award.

I encourage prospective students to take full advantage of all opportunities that Wilkes has to offer. College is a place to explore and push beyond your comfort zone. I also believe in the power of therapy, and seeing the on-campus therapist helped me a lot whenever I was feeling high anxiety. Taking care of your brain is not a weakness, it is a strength.

I loved my time at Wilkes and I’m excited to return as an Alumni Board member.

As a forward on the inaugural men’s ice hockey team, I thought my journey would center around the rink. Instead, I discovered a community, grew, connected and found my purpose.

Campus friendships remain some of the most meaningful in my life. I was surrounded by peers and mentors who inspired me to aim higher. Whether as captain of the men’s ice hockey team, president of the NCAA Student-Athlete Advisory Committee or president of the Sidhu School Dean’s Student Advisory Board, I discovered the joy of working with people who shared my passion for service.

After graduation, I stayed for a sixth year, serving as residence hall director and assistant men’s ice hockey coach, mentoring students and supporting their growth. Those experiences taught me the importance of fostering collaboration and creating opportunities for others to thrive.

As a management consulting analyst at Accenture, I apply the lessons I learned at Wilkes. Being named to the Alumni Board is an honor and an opportunity to give back to the institution that helped me discover who I am and what I stand for.

To prospective students: Wilkes has something for everyone. It’s more than academics, athletics or leadership opportunities — it’s the people who make it extraordinary. Wilkes is a launchpad for life.

It is with great honor, respect and appreciation for the Alumni Association Board of Directors that I accept a role in this strong class of leaders. I was a student-athlete who was excited to represent Wilkes on the football field for four years. No matter where we traveled, the Wilkes community followed. I might be biased, as I met the love of my life, Grace Evan ’21, at Wilkes as she traveled to every game.

Wilkes cultivates an environment for all students to feel appreciated, accepted and accomplished. I had a tremendous experience through my graduate assistantship, as well as extracurricular programs in Residence Life, the Dean’s Student Advisory Board, intramural sports and the Christian Fellowship Club. Shout out to my lovely parents, Francklin and Sauseth Ermeus, for the foundation that allowed me to take full advantage of all Wilkes has to offer.

I am most excited to connect with current students, virtually and in person, to assist their efforts in propelling their careers and bolstering their innovative ideas. For me, “At Wilkes, You Will” is a statement that can be proven time and time again. I’m a testament of it with my awesome job as an account executive with the New York Giants. I’d be negligent not to share what Wilkes can do with those who come after me.

My journey with Wilkes began as sophomore in high school when I became part of the Upward Bound program. It was an obvious decision to pick Wilkes to earn my pharmacy degree from the Nesbitt School of Pharmacy, followed by my MBA 10 years later. Wilkes has been a vital part of my life. One of my favorite memories of Wilkes is when I fell in love and married the Wilkes Colonel mascot, Jason Woloski ’10.

Some of my cherished moments were giving tours to prospective students for the Admissions Office, serving as an e-mentor to first-year students, being involved in several pharmacy organizations, being chosen as a Wilkes commencement speaker at my graduate ceremony in 2022, attending the Founders Gala and, now, dropping my boys off for basketball summer camp.

I would tell a prospective student that Wilkes has been a remarkable and unforgettable journey for me. These past years have involved some of the most memorable, influential moments of my life with long-term friendships and relationships. My education has prepared me to be a well-rounded professional and provided me with the confidence, skills and knowledge to achieve my long term goals. At Wilkes, anything is possible if you have the will to do it.
